About the Special Issue:

We are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for a special issue of Advances in Consumer Research titled “Consumers and Business in the Age of Sustainability.” As sustainability is the buzzword in every sphere of life and deeply affects the business and consumers, understanding how consumers engage, evaluate, and make decisions in this evolving environment is crucial for both academia and industry.

This special issue aims to explore contemporary trends, challenges, and opportunities that arise as consumers and businesses interact with the challenges of climate risk and sustainability, as well as the changing regulatory landscape. We invite original research that contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the evolving trends in consumer preferences and trends in business shaped by the demands of a net-zero world across the globe. This issue also aims to bring out the perspectives and level of engagement of the various stakeholders to face this big challenge faced by humanity.

  • - Consumer preferences of Gen Z
  • - How sustainability is affecting the buying behaviour of consumers
  • - Climate risk assessment for big and small businesses
  • - Regulations on sustainability and their effects on consumers and businesses
  • - Economic impact of climate risk on businesses and consumers
